Blogger Bits: Books that Shocked or Surprised Me

After hours and hours and hours and hours of eyeballing a screen while studying, my neurons a little shot and my weirdness tends to come out in such moments.

Anyway, another fortnight has passed and another Blogger Bits is here.

For those of you wondering what type of sorcery I’m mumbling about, Blogger Bits is a series of discussion posts that a group of fellow bloggers and I write every two weeks, dissecting the book world with our righteous swords. Every time, there’s a different topic and today’s topic is: books that shocked or surprised us!

So, without further ado, here are my picks for todays’ post.

 

“The Becoming of Noah Shaw” was one of my most anticipated books… ever. Let’s just say that when it did not deliver, that was a surprise/shock on its onw. It had a completely different atmosphere than the other books in the trilogy.

But the real surprise was definitely the final plot twists. It was one bold development. So yeah, this book shocked the hell out of me for more reasons than one.

 

 

Again it was a plot twist that made me go “holy moly, I was not expecting that.” Let’s just say that in this almost mystery there is more than one thing the reader kind of takes for granted but noting is what is seems.

 

 

 

This whole series shocked me (positively, mind you), because it was blatant that the author went balls to the wall and said: I’m going to create a kick-ass heroine with guts of brass and murderous tendencies that you will hate and love at the same time. Deal with it.

I’d thought this would be something like the “Sugal Bowl” series, but in comparison that was a Teletubbies episode.

 

Beautifully written, in appearance strightforward and just a normal romance, something in the end makes you look back at the story and say: wow, I should have probably realized that early but for some reason I did not. And it also made me go all gooy and swoony over the lead male character for demonstrating with his behavior all his support to the heroine.

 

 

I went in blind. You should too. Buy tissues.

 

 

 

 

One of the darkest books I’ve ever read, without knowing it was dark before starting. I mean, once I decided to read the other books in the series, I kind of knew some produce was going to be mistreated, lol. But yeah, I had no inkling of how dark this would be before I cracked the spine open.

 

 

But now the Dundies for most shocking books I’ve read so far goes to…

C’mon, gotta give a job to these poor drummers…

 

 

Alright, lower your pitchforks, here we go:

 

Until you’re halfway through you think you have this book figured out. You’re ready to despise every single characters and hate on everything that’s going on and then… then the motherlord of all curveballs gets thrown at you and suddently you love every single character and this turns into one of the most epic love stories you’ve read.

Mind. Blown.
